happy easter

My family came to visit me in Tallahassee on this lovely Easter weekend. We had a pretty fantastic time (if I do say so myself).

I took them to a local hamburger joint Monks (now called Wells Brothers). My dad and I ordered the lip smacker. So delicious. Toppings you ask? Smoked bacon and cheddar cheese slathered with creamy peanut butter; served on a kaiser roll; add jelly for $0.25. I am reading that straight off their menu. Peanut butter and bacon is where it is at. No joke. Of course I added jelly and dipped that thing right in it. I could eat one as I am writing this. Yum.

So at my apartment complex we have a game room. My apartment complex decided to close this holiday weekend (good for the employees) but my brother didn't get to play :( Instead he modeled for me :) anyone want senior photos done? Hit me up. Contact info is on my contact page.

I made them waffles with my new waffle maker on Easter Sunday. Waffles are like the best thing ever (especially with peanut butter). My family always eats waffles with either chocolate chips or blueberries, and a cut up banana on top.

We also colored eggs this holiday season. Pretty sure I am the only 20 year old college student that actually enjoys that tradition.

You guys see that yummy peanut butter? Mhmmm. Pretty much the best thing on earth.

Model status.

A little bored I guess? Apparently egg coloring isn't their favorite part of the holiday (it would have to be the candy eating part).

Lauren colored an egg too!

So this is us trying to get a good picture out of my dad. He was taking forever. This sums up our relationship perfectly.

Gold sparkles was my idea. Go Noles. However, next to that egg is the blue and orange egg I made for my boy. How contradictory.

So Austin made one egg. Just one. He literally dipped it in every single cup of food coloring. And it turned out the best. It is the brownish, purplish egg with green lines. It is the prettiest egg we have.

I'm all about that egg coloring life.

My dad and I at Momos - the local pizza joint (on par with Satchel's the local pizza joint in Gainesville)

take a little ride

Yesterday, we called the local radio station 100+ times to have the chance at winning Jason Aldean tickets. I want to go his concert so terribly bad! No such luck, but Lauren won Wild Adventures tickets. We went to pick them up today and ended up on a yet explored side of Tallahassee (by us), so we just took a little ride (did anybody get that reference????).

All of the photos were taken on my 50mm prime lens.

work it

So as promised, outfit from yesterday. Sorry you don't get to see the whole thing. I look like a mess in every single picture. Photo creds to Lauren.

Today, I went to the stadium to work out. Details of my workout at the bottom. I also practiced with my 50mm prime lens (that was basically the reason I went). It has taken a little getting used to. Lame photos to follow:

These "windows" are really interesting to me.

Nike Trainers from Sports Authority

I think those are some football players? Guy all the way on the right is a Track athlete for sure though. Way to skinny to be a football player.

This guy was bookin' it. He looked like he had an awesome workout.

The chute where FSU football players storm the field.

Workout details:

Ten minutes of warming up. This included running around the stadium and up and down the stadium stairs.

You can have water between exercises or even a small break, but don't wait too long. The point of this workout was to incorporate cardio while strength training.

50 jumping jacks
20 burpees
30 second plank
walking lunges (I did not count, just walked until I felt the burn)

50 jumping jacks
20 switch lunges
30 second plank
50 squats

50 jumping jacks
20 push ups
1 minute plank

10 minute cool down (same as the warm up) you can do five minutes of running, and then 5 minutes of walking if you prefer. Must continue for 10 minutes though.

Don't forget to stretch! (And eat a healthy dinner. It is almost a complete waste if you workout and then blow it on terrible food.)

booties & a bow

I was on the set of Pedro Pan for three days this weekend - and I did not take a single picture. What is wrong with me? Well, I was lucky enough to be boom operator for two days. A volunteer never gets to do cool stuff like that. I also was lucky enough to press the "record" button on the camera. The 2nd AC had to rack focus from tap, and I got to stand next to the DP and help out with pressing the little red button. I was ecstatic.

To say the least, I was super busy and did not even think about bringing out my camera. I wish I did. There were some pretty cool shots to be caught on camera. Plus I wanted good pictures of the DP. Maybe next time.

Today though I convinced Lauren, my always ready model to take photos with me. I have been driving past this ivy wall on Thomasville Road for weeks now wanting to stop and take photos. Alas, today was the day. Just admire her gorgeousness with me puhlease. Also, check out her lovely blog for more photos from today.

LOVE LOVE LOVE how this photo turned out.

Also, love this one even though it is a tad bit blurry. I love the blurriness as well.

Sneak peak of tomorrow's outfit post from me :)

Kinda cool, right?

happy (almost) friday!

What a crazy first week back from Spring Break! Glad it is finally over :) yay! Now just counting down the weeks (and days) until summer break. By my count, only 5 weeks (and 10 days of classes left). Wow it is gonna fly by quick.

Let me catch you up on my 365 project. I am taking a picture a day for a whole year. I started on January 1 and have only missed like 5 days (I believe). You can follow me day by day on Pinterest.

The picture below features my absolute favorite necklace. It is a four-leaf clover from Tiffany and Co. It was a present from my cousin at my high school graduation. I took this photo on Saint Patrick's Day. Clever with the green, if I do say so myself.

Necklace: Tiffany and Co. / Jacket: F21 Similar style

This picture was taken yesterday at a place called The Collection at Southside located in Tallahassee, FL. I was helping Job out with some PD stuff, and I loved these lights. I think this is one of my favorite photos I have taken thus far in my 365 project.

The photos below were taken by my boy. He was kind enough to take these because Lauren is in Miami doing awesome things at a fashion show. I cannot wait to see the photos she posts soon (hopefully?!).

Love the jacket in this outfit! I got if from JCPenny's on sale for $6. It is a Liz Claiborne jacket too. Felt pretty lucky.

reality

Last weekend was Spring Break. I was lucky enough to spend (some) time with my family (when I wasn't on set)! These past two days have been horrible. Back to reality I go.

Pictures from the weekend below:

Mother and I :)

Callen, Austin & Bailey. The Neal family went to cheer on Austin's friends (and the whole team!)

Love the way the light is perfectly behind the tree in this picture. (I think we are a tad blurry - only using a self timer).

Don't ya love a good family photo? I love taking photos with my family! (Although, the men would rather be tortured).

Did you notice that I changed the header? I was originally just working on a class assignment and making something up, when I decided I might as well spend the time doing something worthwhile. I also had to make a watermark. The Julia Ray Photography on all of my photos is just a text overlay. A watermark is way fancier (and pretty easy). If anyone would love to see how I made it, comment below and I can make a tutorial.

Photo credits to Lauren from Life of LST

Now, I would love your opinion on the watermark I have chosen. Is it too much? Distracting? Etcetera? Lauren and I weren't sure if we were noticing it because it was overbearing or because it was a new addition to my photo. Let me know what you think!

Have a fabulous week!

XO
