sunroofs and sunshine

Lauren and I travelled down our new favorite road in Tallahassee: Meridian Road. Gorgeous two lane, canopy road. Perfect for taking in the afternoon. Of course, brought my camera to document. Pinterest is extremely aspiring and I'm an addict so the following photos are (somewhat) inspired by Pinterest. Lauren drives a Mini Cooper. How cute. Check her blog here.

Aren't these last photos epic? I brought my tripod and we took some selfies because we never have any decent photos together.

Lauren's outfit details: Shorts: PacSun / Shirt: Pinky / Boots: Call it Spring / Necklace: PacSun / Bracelet: Target

My outfit details: Boots: Steve Madden / Shorts: Buckle / Belt: Buckle / Necklace: Target / Shirt: Target / Bracelets: acquired and made / Green Jacket: F21 / Blue Ring: JCPenny / Pearl Ring: Gift / Indian Ring: Flea Market

new

So not all of these items are new....like you couldn't tell. I've had the cassette iPhone Case since Christmas, and I'm sure you've seen that necklace more than a few times in previous blog posts. But I figured I share!

1. All Work No Pay Book - given to me by my Aunt and will be my first summer read. As soon as I am done with these finals!
2. Zero Dark Thirty - recently purchased at Target. Can you say girl crush on Jessica Chastain. Gosh she is so gorgeous, click on her name to see my fave photos! If you have not seen it, I highly suggest you do.
3. Cassette iPhone Case found here
4. Flowers from my boy!
5. Madrid Postcard from Erika! She is studying abroad in Spain this semester. Cannot wait to hug her neck when she gets back!
5. Florida State Leather Case from the case competition I competed in my Management Class. Our group was ranked second (by only one point) by our other classmates on our presentation of Nintendo. Pretty exciting stuff!
6. Shorts from Target - $15
7. Finally broke down and got a bandeau from VS (my excuse was that they were on sale, and I had free shipping)
8. Headband turned Necklace borrowed (I guess I should say stolen at this point) from Lauren. Purchased from Target.

How gorgeous is this postcard? So extremely thoughtful. Thanks girl! I am sure Erika is doing fantastic and will be trilingual by the time she gets back. One smart lady :)

Boris the Biker

I'm never a huge fan of group projects, but the group I am in for my management class has turned out surprisingly well. We all pull our own weight and contribute to make things flow nicely (plus we have an A on our group project work, so that bodes well).

Anyhow, back to the point of this post. Boris Zhadanovsky, one of my group members, is on the FSU Cycling Team and asked me to take some photos for him. Of course I jumped at the opportunity. Not only to boost my portfolio and gain experience in action shots, but it is always cool to experience something new.

The following photos were taken at Tom Brown Park in Tallahassee. I had never been there, but heard awesome things about it and I was not disappointed. The park was amazing and I cannot wait to go back and run sometime.

pretty lips

I am absolutely obsessed with this lip color! Chatterbox by Mac. I splurged on myself last week and this is the one key item I bought. Absolutely loving it.

It is finally warm enough to wear shorts all day, and I couldn't be more ecstatic. Honestly, I thought we were never going to get out of winter. I read somewhere that on average March was colder than February. Crazy shenanigans I know! Us Floridians were more than ready for the summer weather to hit. Now that it has, we all know that tanning, beach trips, and Fourth of July are right around the corner. And I am supah excited. I only have two and a half more weeks, and then three finals. I can taste the freedom!

Photo creds to Lauren! She is going to be a better photographer than me shortly. Check out her cool photos on her blog, Life of LST.

Outfit Details:
Button up shirt: Old Navy / Tank top: gift / Shorts: Cutoffs from Goodwill / Shoes: New York & Company (on supah sale, got mine for $15) / Necklace: borrowed from Lauren / Purse: F21 (also borrowed from Lauren)

pretty pecan trees

On the way home from Wild Adventures, I had to stop at this beautiful farm of Pecan Trees. We had seen them on the way up and I thought they were absolutely gorgeous. There was no fence, so we weren't technically trespassing :)

This is the view Lauren captured from the car on our way to Valdosta. Gorgeous right. I can't pinpoint what it is exactly that I love about them. I think it must be the perfect precision and symmetry with which they are planted.

They look closer together from the road, but they are spaced out pretty far from one another.

Interesting shot with the shadow across her face.

Maybe one day I'll have my own pecan tree farm to admire all the time.

Always the ever ready model!

Lauren made a video of our adventures this past weekend, seen below. The song is Little Number by the band Boy. It is currently on my list of most played songs this month.

Again, don't forget to check out Lauren's blog Life of LST for more photos from this weekend!

loving my juicer

With the summer weather finally here it is such a nice treat to make a smoothie. For each recipe below, I juice everything except the banana. At the end I blend the juice with a banana, frozen mixed fruit, and some ice cubes. I don't refrigerate all of my fruits and vegetables, so adding the frozen fruit and the ice at the end makes for a cool refreshing treat. It also makes more for a smoothie rather than just juice. I prefer the thicker flavor.

I use a Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer Express. I used the first link I could find, but make sure to shop around. I bet you could find it cheaper. I use a Hamilton Beach Blender - it's a single serving blender, which is absolutely perfect for my needs. It helps to make sure I proportion right. With bigger blenders, I often make too much and either drink more than needed, or waste the extra.

(Sorry for the poor quality photo, I didn't notice I was in the light.)

This was the first time I juiced a tomato. I was pleasantly surprised that it added such a sweet flavor. I love the taste of carrots. If anyone has had that Sobe Orange Carrot - I think this recipe is pretty close. I am taking full advantage of the oranges on sale at Publix, but I just found that juicing an entire orange was a little too sour.

My juice was so yummy, Lauren barely got a picture before it was gone.

Today's recipe below is my favorite so far!

Again, I blend the juice with the banana, frozen mixed fruit (found in the Publix frozen aisle), and a few ice cubes.

I enjoyed my juice/smoothie at the pool today. Gorgeous weather here in Tallahassee!

Hope everyone had a fabulous start to their week! I accomplished so much today and am hoping for a similar result all week.

XO

road trip!

So a couple of weeks ago, Lauren won tickets to Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta! She chose me to accompany her!

We had a grand ole time. Friday we drove through Thomasville, stopped and shopped. That night we were in Valdosta and took in the local sites there as well. We had dinner at The Bleu Cafe. It was really good. It had a mexican theme going on - wouldn't have pictured that from the title. It seems so American I guess.

Saturday we went to Wild Adventures and had a blast. They have 47 different attractions. 47. How crazy is that. We rode all of the big roller coasters, and the ferris wheel. It was a gorgeous day. Pretty sure I am sun burnt.

I did not know before arriving that they had a whole animal area as well. They had giraffes, elephants, lions, tigers, hogs, all kinds of birds, alligators, snakes, kinkajous, rhinoceros, antelope and alpacas to name a few!

I was very impressed overall with the variety of animals, but I felt really bad for the small spaces they had to roam :(

Too bad for this stinkin' dumpster. It would have been an awesome photo, I just couldn't not post.

Here are some iPhone photos from the trip:

Check out Lauren's blog Life of LST for other photos soon! Also, we have a video we should be posting soon as well :)
